As a Caucasian going to a Chinese restaurant can be, well, challenging sometimes. I usually stick to what I know which is Noodles and shrimps ;-) Any Chinese person will laugh at me for being so unadventurous, and I agree with them. I simply do not know better. Growing up in Communist Eastern Europe has kept my culinary choices on a basic level. I went to Taste Good Beijing restaurant in Milpitas, California yesterday. Tucked away in a less than attractive shopping mall, it is not easy to spot immediately. I am not listing everything here they have on the menu but if you like a rather hearty meal, than this Northern Chinese cuisine is for you. I really enjoyed their food which is very fresh. I highly recommend the mushrooms you see in the picture, the pork buns and the chicken liver/stomach. And try Beijing yoghurt. This restaurant is very authentic from what Chinese patrons say. Service is alright but the excellent food makes more than up for that. Very recommended when you stop or live in Silicon Valley, California.
